Governor Cuomo Agrees to Three-Year School-based Health Center Carve-out

Governor Cuomo once again vetoed legislation that would have permanently craved-out school-based health centers from Medicaid managed care, but he agreed to provide them with three more years to transition to managed care. In his Veto Message of the legislation (S.6012, Seward/A.7866, Gottfried), he indicates that school-based health centers will have until January 1, 2021 to “implement the care coordination and quality improvement activities required to transition to managed care.”
