Governor Andrew Cuomo announced several appointments to key positions. Cathy Calhoun will serve as the Director of State Operations, where she will oversee State agencies and help direct policy. She succeeds Jamie Rubin, who held the post for the past nine months.
In addition, Linda Lacewell will return to the Administration in the role of Chief of Staff and Counselor to the Governor. She replaces Maria Comella, who joined the Administration in April after serving as a top aide to several Republicans, including Chris Christie. Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa, held the Chief of Staff post prior to Comella’s appointment. Read the press release announcing the appointments here.
